SELF-STUDY Materials for Agent Exam Preparation

In order to take the Washington State Insurance Agent Exams, you are required to complete 16 clock hours per line of insurance, plus four hours for the State Regulations. You may qualify for a waiver to complete these required clock hours at home and use our training materials if you live 30 miles or more away from an insurance school, or if you have extenuating circumstances.

STEP #1 (REQUIRED):
To see if you qualify for a pre-licensing self-study waiver, you will need to request a waiver from the Insurance Commissioner's Office.

Please CLICK HERE to print out the Self-Study Request Form and fax the completed form directly to the Commissioner's office for review. If you have any specific questions regarding the self-study approval process, please email Joe Mendoza at the Commissioner's Office at joem@oic.wa.gov.
